Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Build, repair, modify, and maintain tooling, fixtures, dies, and related gaging systems
- Use blueprints, customer data, and engineering specifications to create accurate tooling solutions
- Set up and operate machine tools to manufacture, fit, and assemble tooling components
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and complete adjustments or repairs to support production schedules
- Assist with tool prove-in, prototype development, die design, and tooling improvement projects
- Maintain tooling identification, condition, revision control, and related documentation
- Communicate project status, technical concerns, and completion timelines to appropriate team members
- Identify opportunities to improve tooling performance, product quality, and process efficiency
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in tool making, machining, fabrication, mold or die work, industrial maintenance, or a related manufacturing role preferred
- Basic ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and measuring instruments
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using machine tools, hand tools, or fabrication equipment
- Willingness to learn tooling design, inspection methods, materials testing, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with profile extrusion, fabrication, FMEA, or automotive quality systems is a plus but not required
- Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage assigned projects and communicate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams
- English communication skills required; bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- Ability to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling, handling tools and materials, and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing 25–50 lbs., with sufficient strength and stamina to work safely in a manufacturing environment
