Job Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and related machining equipment
- Program CNC machines using CAM software; write, modify, and optimize CNC programs as neededInterpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and engineering documentation
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part quality and dimensional accuracy
- Perform electrical discharge machining (EDM) operations for complex or hard-to-machine components as requiredMaintain tooling, machine setups, and calibration to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance with safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and document results for quality assurance purposes
- Troubleshoot machining issues using mechanical drawings and schematics; perform necessary adjustments or minor repairs
- Assist with assembly or fabrication tasks when required, using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and related tools
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to develop tooling solutions that improve productivity and product quality
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, improve workflow, and enhance productivity
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and report hazards or violations
- Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely within the manufacturing environment
- Work 2nd shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Monday–Friday); weekends may be required
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Proven experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment operating CNC milling and CNC lathe machines
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in blueprint reading requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in tooling design required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in simulated design builds, prototypes, mold and tool design required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in blueprint interpretation, tooling and materials testing, inspection methods, and FMEA required
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming (G-code), CAM software, CAD systems, and SolidWorks for design review
- Familiarity with GD&T standards and precision measurement techniques
- Experience with EDM operations, plastic injection molding processes, and welding techniques preferred
- Mechanical aptitude with strong math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment
- Experience in lean manufacturing environments preferredEnglish proficiency (verbal and written) required
- Spanish proficiency (verbal and written) preferred
- Ability to work night and/or overnight shifts as needed
- Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing facility
- Physical requirements include standing for the entire shift, lifting 25–50 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling, and sufficient stamina and core strength to perform job duties safely
