Job Summary:

As an APQP Technician, you support Advanced Product Quality Planning activities by executing and maintaining critical APQP and PPAP documentation. You work closely with quality, engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure customer-specific requirements are met throughout product launches and ongoing production. By applying your attention to detail, technical documentation skills, and quality knowledge, you help ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely approvals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
 
$16.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, update, and maintain PPAP packages in accordance with customer-specific requirements
  • Support initial PPAP submissions, resubmissions, and periodic or annual revalidations
  • Maintain PPAP records with accurate document traceability, revision control, and completeness
  • Support internal and external audits related to APQP and PPAP activities
  • Complete and maintain customer-required documentation related to tooling, processes, and manufacturing changes
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of tooling and process data across internal systems and customer documentation
  • Support compliance with customer-specific approval requirements and processes
  • Create, update, and maintain IMDS entries to meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate IMDS submissions with suppliers, engineering, and customers
  • Track IMDS approvals and resolve rejections or required corrections
  • Perform dimensional layouts for PPAP submissions, revalidations, engineering changes, and customer requests
  • Review, process, and control engineering drawings to ensure correct revisions, specifications, and dimensional compliance
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of additional APQP-related documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Technical degree or equivalent practical experience required
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in a quality, engineering, or manufacturing environment required
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of APQP and PPAP requirements
  • Understanding of IATF 16949, EMS, and Quality Management System awareness requirements
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and performing dimensional measurements
  • Understanding of process instructions, control plans, problem-solving techniques, SPC, and quality documentation
  • Knowledge of industry quality and safety regulations
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and process flow
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to safety standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team player
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality documentation tools
  • Basic math, reading, and inventory control aptitude
  • Experience with IMDS systems and submissions preferred
  • Experience managing customer-specific documentation, portals, or systems (e.g., USPEC) preferred
  • Automotive manufacturing experience and familiarity with OEM-specific requirements (Ford, GM, Chrysler, Toyota, etc.) preferred
  • Ability to perform job duties requiring prolonged standing and walking, occasional bending and material handling, and lifting or moving items up to 25–50 lbs., with sufficient stamina to work safely in a manufacturing environment
